Traversing cable-driven trash rack cleaner - Type RRS-F

If several intake sections, arranged side by side, must be kept free from debris to allow for a good flow passage, either several trash rack cleaners or a traversing machine may be installed cleaning the rakes one after another..

In addition to the manufacture of water turbines, since 1971, OSSBERGER has also been specialising in the design and construction of stationary and traversing trash rack cleaning machines, cleaning protective screens on irrigation channels, run-of-the-river stations and turbine intakes at storage reservoirs in a most effective and convenient manner. Floating debris of all types and sizes are retained and removed, protecting natural waters (and seas) while keeping the flow passages free with little or no head losses. The installation of these cleaning systems is quick and simple; they require minimal energy and are outstanding for their reliable operation. OSSBERGER trash rack cleaners have now been running without problems for decades. They offer a profitable investment as optimum turbine flows are maintained when intake screens are cleaned automatically and electric production is thus maximized

Traversing, hydraulically operated trash rack cleaners, Type RRH-F

Screen width: up to 50 m
Screen length/intake depth: up to 10 m
Inclination: 30° – 80°

In case the intake width of the screen exceeds the maximum rake width, or if several intake bays exist, the hydraulic machine can be built with a horizontally traversing carriage, thus cleaning each intake area selectively or in sequence.

Stationary, chain-driven trash rack cleaners, Type RRM

Screen width: up to 15m
Screen length/intake depth: up to 10 m
Inclination: 30° – 68°

Machines of the type RRM are stationary trash rack cleaners with rotating rake heads pulled by two endless chains. This cleaner type is stabilized by a solid steel construction, the driving and deflector wheels above the water level are regreasable; two more wheels immersed below the water are maintenance-free. The cleaning rake is also equipped with a highly wear resistant rubber scraper profile; the chains can be tensioned by special devices that are easily accessible..

Stationary cable-driven trash rack cleaner -

Type RRS

Screen width: up to 4 m
Screen length/intake depth: up to 25 m
Inclination: 75° – 85°

Cable-driven trash rack cleaners of the type RRS can be provided as either traversing or stationary units. They comprise a double cable hoisting mechanism pulling the rake carriage along the screen panel. Even extreme cleaning heights can be achieved in this way. An electronically actuated lifting device assures that debris is only collected at the screen panel base after full descent. Equipped with polyamide guide rollers, quiet operation is achieved along with low maintenance requirements. Fast and easy installation is assured.

Stationary, hydraulic trash rack cleaner –

Type RRH

Screen width: 0,5 – 8 m
Screen length/intake depth: 0,8 – 10 m
Inclination: 30° – 75°

Ossberger developed the stationary, hydraulic trash rack cleaner of type RRH for the automatic cleaning of small and medium-sized trash racks installed at water intakes of channels and storage basins. This machine is equipped with single-arm, wide extending angle booms, on which the cleaning rake is attached perpendicular to the river flow. The boom consists of two arms jointed by a pivoting bearing. Hydraulic cylinders move the rake up and down according to the geometry of the screen. Additionally, the traction arm can be furnished with a telescopic extension; a hydraulic aggregate controls the oil supply.

The rake type RRH includes a storage-programmable logic controller and a level differential control device for automated operation. Maintenance requirements are kept to a minimum, yet designed to operate efficiently and reliably for many years. The rake type RRH 5 is the latest model in this series of trash rack cleaner design and is capable of reaching cleaning depths of up to ten meters.
